We are what we Eat, Drink, Think, and Do. The Alkaline Way™ is meant to help you fulfill that promise.
I spent 10 years abusing my body and within 8 months was able to fully recover my vitality and lust for life by following The Alkaline Way plan.
What is The Alkaline Way?
Acknowledging that we are the result of what we eat, drink, think, and do, the Alkaline Way philosophy creates balance through healthy nutrition, optimal hydration, targeted supplementation, gentle detox, and low-impact exercise.
What ‘Acid’ or ‘Alkaline’ means
The internal environment of your body is maintained at a pH between 6.5 – 7.5, which is alkaline. For necessary cell reactions and functions to occur, our body must maintain this appropriate pH. While your body can regulate pH, there is a limit to how much it can neutralize. Excess acids can accumulate from one or more of the following conditions:
Acid-forming diet / Distress
Toxins (or their metabolites) / Immune reactions
Anti-oxidant sufficiency / oxidative stress
The Alkaline Way is based on selecting foods that are predominantly alkaline forming. This directly neutralizes excess metabolic acids and makes it possible to maintain sustained health and immune competence.
Five Health-Enhancing Practices the Make up The Alkaline Way
1) Check your acid-alkaline balance daily to stay in touch with your body’s metabolic functions.
2) Eat fresh, high quality whole foods from organic, biodynamic and local sources.
3) Eating ~80% of your foods from alkaline sources restores; 60+% to maintain health. (see chart)
4) Eat a wide variety of whole foods in a variety of ways to let your body select what it needs from healthier sources.
5) Hydrate and chew.
Moving & Being to Evoke Healing
The Alkaline Way is a synthesis of ways to stimulate the body’s natural healing responses. Particularly recommended are ways that keep you moving that include breathing, with a priority given to core strength and stimulating muscle repair and resilience. Unhealthy thoughts and afflictive emotions place a burden on our body’s chemical balance. It is encouraging to know that mental and emotional habits can be learned or relearned in ways that promote health rather than impair it. Learned optimism is both possible and effective.
